Japan Earthquake and Tsunami 2011

This 9.0 Magnitude Megathrust Earthquake was occured at 14:46 JST (05:46  UTC) on Friday 11 March 2011 in the western Pacific Ocean, 130 kilometers (81 mi) east of Sendai,Honshu, Japan, lasting approximately 6 minutes and is considered as the One of the 5 most Powerful earthquakes in the world since 1900.The  epicenter was 130 kilometers (81 mi) off the east coast of the Oshika Peninsula of Tohoku near Sendai, with the hypocenter at a depth of 32 km (19.9 mi).The earthquake in return resulted in extremely destructive  Tsunami waves that rose up to the height of 10 meters (33 ft) and struck Japan few minutes after the earthquake.These disastrous waves even travelled up to 10 km (6 mi) inland. 8649 died ,2702 injured and 12,877 people are missing alongwith 125,000 buildings destroyed ,this has been confirmed officially by Japanese National Police Agency.Around 4.4 million households in northeastern Japan were left without electricity and 1.5 million without water.
